About us
Independent guides to exploring your style
KibbeStyle is an independent resource — a website and an iOS app — dedicated to one thing: helping you discover your Kibbe body type through styling guides and practical comparisons. The website is available in any browser; the optional questionnaire runs in the iPhone app.
Our mission
We help readers explore clothing through type guides, practical comparisons and outfit ideas. Our archive follows the historical thirteen-label framework across five families. We explain how this differs from the ten image identities on David Kibbe’s current website, and distinguish our styling suggestions from his own work.
Everything we publish exists to answer two questions well: which type am I? and so how do I dress?
What we stand for
Exploration with context
Our guides explain styling directions and suggest ways to explore them with clothes you already own. An identity label is a starting point, not a set of measurements or a verdict.
Privacy is the default
Photo analysis runs 100% on your device. Your photos never leave your phone, there is no cloud upload, and you don’t need an account to get your result. Privacy isn’t a setting you opt into — it’s how the app is built.
Genuinely useful
A type name on its own changes nothing. Every result comes with a clear Yin/Yang breakdown and head-to-toe styling guidance — necklines, fabrics, silhouettes and outfit combinations to try with clothes you own.
Beautiful and respectful
We describe style icons in words and use original illustrations instead of copyrighted celebrity photos. The result is an experience that feels like a premium style guide and respects both your privacy and others’ rights.
How we research and write
Our revised guides distinguish the background framework from our own styling suggestions. We use original clothing sketches to show what an outfit idea means, and explain the limitations of drawing conclusions from a quiz or a single feature. Sources and a route for corrections appear alongside the revised guides.
The Kibbe system itself was created by image consultant David Kibbe. KibbeStyle is an independent resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by David Kibbe. Our archive retains the historical 13-label framework; our editorial note below explains how that differs from the ten identities described on David Kibbe’s current website.
Privacy, in plain terms
The app’s optional photo analysis runs entirely on your device using on-device vision — your photos are never uploaded, never used to train any model, and the temporary image is deleted right after the measurement. You can read the full privacy policy for both the app and this website.

Frequently asked questions
Are you affiliated with David Kibbe?
No. The Kibbe Body Type system was created by image consultant David Kibbe. KibbeStyle is an independent resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by David Kibbe. We explain and apply the publicly known framework to help people dress for their natural lines.
How do you keep the content accurate?
Our revised guides identify primary background sources and distinguish them from our own outfit suggestions. We welcome corrections. Our publisher byline does not imply certification by David Kibbe, and quiz results are not definitive assessments.
Is the test free?
Yes. The quiz and your basic result are always free in the app — no surprise paywall. Deeper tools like on-device photo analysis and full style guides use credits, and new members receive free credits to try them.
Do my photos ever leave my phone?
No. The optional photo analysis runs entirely on your device. Your photos are never uploaded to us or anyone else, and you don’t need an account to get your result.
Editorial approach
KibbeStyle publishes independent interpretations and practical outfit suggestions. A KibbeStyle byline identifies the publisher; it does not imply certification by David Kibbe. Our outfit sketches illustrate clothing ideas, not measured body categories. We distinguish primary background sources from our own suggestions on the revised guides.
Our archive uses the historical 13-label framework. David Kibbe's official website describes ten image identities. For his updated approach, see Power of Style (2025). A quiz result or a photograph is not a definitive assessment. Please send corrections or questions so we can improve these resources.
